It's hard to believe that it is only the middle of October, but here it is, the first snowfall of the season. It was a joy to see the dogs running and playing in the fresh snow. It wasn't much fun seeing a few of them limping due to iceballs. To avoid those painful iceball between your dogs' toes, it's time to keep that long hair between your dog's toes trimmed.
Spring and Summer came and went without much more than a flicker in the electric, but we were ready. The new generator, donated by Petfinder and Honda, sits at the ready, assuring that any local person who gets their water from a well, can get free purified water in times of extended power outages, as part of our Disaster Plan.
Thanks to a generous donation, Safehaven Small Breed Rescue, has aplied for our incorporation and non-profit status. We will continue to foster for the Pekingese Charitable Foundation, but in addition, we will be working with many other small breeds, and will be elligable for help with food and veterinary care. Thanks again to the Bens for their generous donation.
